The Philadelphia Union continue to pile up wins, both in games on the field and individual accolades.
Today Major League Soccer announced that Union head coach and local native Jim Curtin was named the 2022 Sigi Schmid Coach of the Year, the second time he has earned the honor.
The 43-year-old Villanova alum is the youngest coach to win the award twice in his career, and the fifth to win the award more than once. This season, the club set new marks for points earned (67), goals scored (72) and fewest goals conceded (26).

After tabulating votes from MLS technical staffs, media, and players, Curtin won by a very narrow margin over Wilfried Nancy of CF Montreal, 23.57% to 23.47%.
Already this postseason, this is the third individual award the Union have claimed. Jacob Glesnes took home Defender of the Year honors, and Andre Blake won Goalkeeper of the Year for the third time in his career.
Curtin’s award also drew the attention of another all-time great coach with connections to a certain school on the Main Line.
