The NovaCare Complex was open for business on Saturday afternoon, except it wasn't the Eagles who took the field.

The Soul hosted an open tryout at the Birds' practice facility and over 300 prospective players showed up for the workout.

“This was a tremendous turnout,” Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said in a statement released by the team. “Not only did we draw a huge number but we were very pleased with the level of talent. I'm looking forward to discussing where some of the more talented players today could fit on our team.”

Current Soul owner and former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski, Soul owner and Saints wide receiver Marques Colston and new Eagles head coach Doug Pederson were all in attendance to watch the tryout.

The Soul's coaching staff and players on the team's 2016 roster also took in the practice session from the sidelines.

Open tryouts are nothing new to the Soul. The team has found several players in the past who earned invitations to training camps.

In fact, there are five players on the current roster who were discovered at open tryouts, including wide receivers Ryan McDaniel and Harvey Binford, kicker Tommy Frevert, Millersville's Sean Scott and Penn State's Jerome Hayes.

McDaniel was spectacular in 2015. He recorded a career-high 114 catches for 1,277 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Binford, a rookie last season, caught 34 passes for 412 yards and seven scores.

The Soul, who finished 15-3 in 2015, will open training camp on March 11 before opening their season against the rival Gladiators in Cleveland on April 1.
