The Flyers once again went toe to toe with the NHL’s best but came up just short again, dropping their sixth straight game in a 4-1 loss to the Blues.

Carter Hart missed his second straight game with an eye infection.

"He skated this morning but he still has some swelling there, which is sort of impairing his vision," Flyers interim head coach Mike Yeo said Tuesday before his club's game against the Blues at the Wells Fargo Center (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP).

Hart did not play Monday in the Flyers' 4-3 overtime loss at home to the Hurricanes. Yeo said he expects the 23-year-old goalie to return for the Flyers' next game Saturday at home against the Capitals (12:30 p.m. ET/NBCSP).

With Hart out against St. Louis, Martin Jones started in net again for the second game of this back-to-back set. The veteran made 27 saves in the loss to Carolina.

"Jonesy's a great pro. I coached against him for a long time," Yeo said pregame Monday. "He's a guy that never asks a question. There's been a lot of times here where we've been sort of running with Carter, his attitude has been outstanding, his support for Carter has been outstanding and when we've asked him to come in, he's been real good."

Kirill Ustimenko backed up Jones. The Flyers lost to the Blues, 4-1.
