Tim Hauck, Doug Pederson’s teammate on the 1999 Eagles, will join Pederson’s Eagles coaching staff, according to a tweet by Alex Marvez of FOX Sports.
Marvez tweeted that Cory Undlin, brought in last year by Chip Kelly, will remain defensive backs coach and Hauck will serve as assistant D-backs coach.
Hauck had a 13-year NFL playing career, mainly on special teams. But he was a starter in 1999, when he had 15 of his 28 career starts playing across from Brian Dawkins.
Hauck spent the 1999 through 2001 seasons with the Eagles, joining the team after training the second two years. He also played for the Patriots, Packers, Broncos, Seahawks, Colts and 49ers, retiring after the 2002 season.
Hauck is best-known for ending Michael Irvin’s career with a hit during a game at the Vet in 1999 that resulted in a spinal cord injury.
As a coach, Hauck has spent time with the University of Montana, UCLA, the Titans, the Browns and most recently at UNLV, where he served as defensive coordinator under his brother Bobby.
