Eagles inactives: Eagles without several starters vs. Giants

Updated: 6:46 p.m.

Facing the Giants tonight, the Eagles will be without several key starters, including Derek Barnett and Nelson Agholor.

Jordan Howard (shoulder) and Kamu Grugier-Hill (concussion) are also out.

Barnett and Agholor both missed practice all week. You’ll remember that Agholor hurt his knee in the Patriots game. He missed the Seahawks game, returned for the Miami game, but popped up back on the injury report this week. Barnett hurt his ankle during the Miami game but still managed to play 50 snaps.

Howard (shoulder) came into this game listed as questionable but is out too. He still hasn’t been cleared for contact and will miss his fourth straight game on Monday night. He got hurt late in the Chicago game before the bye week.

Grugier-Hill, who reported concussion symptoms on Thursday morning, was ruled out on Saturday. He’s still in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Here’s the full list of Eagles’ inactives:

Kamu Grugier-Hill (concussion)
Derek Barnett (ankle)
Nelson Agholor (knee)
Jordan Howard (shoulder)
Nate Herbig
Sua Opeta
Shareef Miller

Without Agholor, the Eagles are down to just three healthy receivers: Alshon Jeffery, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Greg Ward. They also have third tight end Josh Perkins active. Perkins has basically played receiver for them before.

Without Barnett, Josh Sweat and Vinny Curry will likely see the greatest increase in snaps. Barnett had played the third-most defensive snaps on the team in 2019 coming into tonight.

The full list of inactives will come out in just over an hour.
