Wow. The hero of the night was Wilson Valdez, who came in to pitch for the Phillies in the top of the 19th inning and was throwing some heat. Yes, Wilson Valdez pitched for the Phillies, you read that correctly. Not only did he pitch, but he earned the victory by getting the heart of the Reds' potent lineup out without doing any damage.
Raul Ibanez was the guy whose bat delivered the go-ahead run in the bottom of the nineteenth, sending the amazinly awesome Philadelphia faithful who were still cheering at Citizens Bank Park at 1:20 in the morning home happy. Tired as hell, for sure, but happy they witnessed such a wild and wacky affair. And the home team won.
