Phillies fans cheered loudly in the ninth inning of Sunday night's game, but not for the reasons you'd typically think. As news of Osama bin Laden's death first reached those inside Citizens Bank Park via cellphones, chants of U-S-A! U-S-A! broke out. It was a rare moment that brought Phillies and Mets fans together.
Mets third baseman David Wright was standing at home plate when the chants became quite audible. Andy McCullough of the Star-Ledger talked to Wright after the game about the moment.
“It’s just an incredible moment,” Wright said. “For more than split-second, you kind of come together. You’ve got the New Yorker. You’ve got Philadelphia, the city. You kind of come together, a common cause.”

McCullough added another fantastic Wright quote via Twitter in which he praised Philadelphians.
"I don’t like to give Philadelphia fans too much credit. But they got this one right," Wright said.
Finally, Charlie Manuel was asked what he thought of the crowd's reaction. "I think that evidently they were happy," Manuel said.
You could say that.
