No. 24 Temple 57, George Washington 41

WASHINGTON -- Temple coach Fran Dunphy insisted he wasn't worried.
Three days after their worst loss of the season to the top-ranked team in the nation, the Owls missed 16 of their first 18 shots and fell 12 points behind George Washington. After the horrific first 10 minutes were over, No. 24 Temple stabilized and dominated the Colonials in the second half on the way to a 57-41 victory Saturday.
After returning the favor by holding George Washington to just two points over the final 11:22, Dunphy could look back on Saturday's game with satisfaction.

"I thought our defense in the second half was as good as we can play," Dunphy said.
How good was it?
The Owls (22-6, 12-2 Atlantic 10) held the Colonials (15-13, 8-6) to 18.8 percent shooting from the field. Temple outscored George Washington 19-2 after the Colonials took a 39-38 lead.
"Everybody just kind of dug in," Dunphy said.
Lavoy Allen had 19 points and a season-high 16 rebounds for the Owls, who have won nine of 10, while Khalif Wyatt had 14 points and Ramone Moore added 11.

Drexel 66, Towson 63

BALTIMORE -- Derrick Thomas scored 19 points, including three free throws in the final 1:27, to help Drexel hold off Towson 66-63 on Saturday.
Dartaye Ruffin scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half for the Dragons (20-9, 11-7 Colonial Athletic Association), who reached 20 wins for the first time since 2006-07 and clinched the fifth seed for the CAA tournament.
Drexel will have a rematch with Towson (4-25, 0-18), which has lost 18 consecutive games, in Friday's first round.
Isaiah Philmore hit a jumper to pull Towson to within 63-61 with 1:55 left, but Thomas countered with a free throw.
After Dre Conner made two to cut the lead to 64-63 with 39 seconds left, Thomas hit two more with 17 seconds to play.
Towson's Brian Morris missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Drexel's Daryl McCoy had 13 rebounds.
Josh Brown scored 21 points, and Philmore had 15 and 10 rebounds.
Cornell 74, Penn 72
BOX SCORE
Mark Coury matched a career high with 13 points, including the go-ahead basket with 35 seconds remaining, and Cornell defeated Pennsylvania 74-72 on Saturday night to sweep the season series.
Cornell led by 15 points in the second half but Penn battled back to take a 69-68 lead after a basket by Miles Cartwright with 1:14 to play.
After Coury's basket, the Big Red built a 73-69 lead with 10 seconds to play.
Drew Ferry added 11 points and Chris Wroblewski dished out 11 assists for the Big Red (8-18, 4-8 Ivy League), who have won seven of the past eight in the series.
Cornell made more than 50 percent of its shots for the second game in a row, hitting 51.9 percent (28 of 54).
Cartwright scored 23 points, Zack Rosen had 22 and Tyler Bernardini had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Quakers (12-13, 6-5), who slipped to fourth place in the conference.
St. Joe's 79, St. Bonaventure 65

Langston Galloway hit five three-pointers on his way to scoring a career-high 27 points to lead Saint Joseph's to a 79-65 victory over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.
Galloway was 5 of 7 from the 3-point line as the Hawks (8-20, 3-11 Atlantic 10 Conference) broke a three-game losing streak.
Saint Joseph's shot a season-high 61.5 percent from the field (24 of 39) -- 66.7 percent in the first half (12 of 18) -- and 64.7 percent from 3-point range (11 of 17).
The Hawks used a 13-4 run to open the second to pull away from the Bonnies (15-12, 7-7) and take a 51-38 lead with 13:09 left. Andrew Nicholson's three-point play cut the score to 56-52 with 6:36 to play, but Saint Joseph's scored eight of the next 10 points.
Carl Jones added 20 points and C.J. Aiken scored a career-high 14 for the Hawks.
Nicholson scored 28 and Michael Davenport had 11 for St. Bonaventure.
Hofstra 79, Delaware 60

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Charles Jenkins had his No. 22 jersey retired and then scored 21 points during Hofstra's 79-60 win over Delaware on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.
The Pride (20-10, 14-4 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 50.8 percent from the field (30 of 59) and 15 of 15 from the free-throw line. Hofstra is guaranteed at least a tie for second in the CAA, its highest finish since joining the league in 2001-02.
The Pride took a 33-26 lead at halftime as Jenkins had 10 points. Jenkins, the Pride's career scoring leader (2,463) became the first Hofstra student-athlete to have his jersey retired as an active player.
Greg Washington and Brad Kelleher added 12 points each and Shemiye McLendon and Mike Moore chipped in 11 apiece for the Pride.
Jawan Carter scored 21 points to lead the Blue Hens (13-16, 8-10), who will be the seventh seed in the conference tournament.
