Philadelphia, PA (April 20, 2018) – NBC Sports Philadelphia, the home for the most comprehensive coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Sixers has named Travis Hughes Director of Digital Content for the network. He starts his new role on Monday, April 30. The move was announced by NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Vice President Content, Michelle Murray.

In this newly-created position, Hughes is responsible for the network’s portfolio of multi-platform content and initiatives, across NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com, digital and social media platforms, and podcasts. He’ll also lead efforts to increase brand engagement with Philadelphia’s passionate sports fans, and develop long-range content initiatives for the network.

“Combining his knowledge and passion for the home town teams, along with Travis’ success in building and growing strong brand engagement, will be a powerful combination as we continue our transformation into a multiplatform destination for Philadelphia sport fans,” said Murray.

"I remember the day CSN came on the air in 1997, and I've been looking up to the network ever since,” said Hughes. “The opportunity to come home and join such an amazing team is a dream come true. I cannot wait to get started."

Hughes comes to NBC Sports Philadelphia from Vox Media where he managed sports coverage at SB Nation since 2010. In that role, he oversaw 33 of the SB Nation editorial brands, which drew more than 150 million page views per year. He handled the editorial strategy around their social, partner platforms, video, search, emerging platforms, as well as building video content and distribution.

Hughes also managed Vox Media's editorial partnership with Bill Simmons Media Group's The Ringer site. He grew up in Egg Harbor, N.J., and attended Quinnipiac University, where he majored in Journalism.
