Who is the biggest celebrity Sixers fan?

The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the NBA’s most passionate fan bases.

Sixers fans have helped turn Wells Fargo Center into a fortress in recent years, with the team sporting a 119-30 record in South Philly dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season, good for the best home record in the NBA over that span.

And it’s not unusual to spot a celebrity fan or two in the consistently sold-out crowds.

From Hollywood stars to rappers, here are some of the biggest celebrity Sixers fans:

Will Smith

Is there a bigger display of fandom than buying a piece of your favorite team?

That’s what Hollywood star and West Philadelphia native Will Smith did, along with his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, back in 2011 when they were part of the Josh Harris-led ownership group that purchased the Sixers for around $287 million. The size of Smith's minority stake is unknown, but being a part-owner of your hometown squad is pretty sweet (even if it’s just the .015% stake Jay-Z used to own in the Brooklyn Nets).

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart has made a living off of being funny, but his antics at games don’t always leave his fellow Sixers fans laughing.

The comedian and actor is unsurprisingly vocal and animated when he’s courtside, which has sometimes backfired.

Hart’s trash talk fueled James Harden and Dwyane Wade to big performances in wins over the Sixers in the past. And who could forget this, Hart mocking the Boston Celtics with the Sixers up 20 at TD Garden in Round 2 of the 2018 playoffs ...

… only for the Sixers to blow that huge lead and lose the game. According to Hart, a Sixers player even said he needed to “shut up” during that game.

Putting the jinxing to the side, Hart obviously has a genuine passion for the Sixers. Plus, he’s shared some hilarious moments with Joel Embiid

M. Night Shyamalan

Ever received a black eye from an NBA superstar at a Sixers game? M. Night Shyamalan has.

When the Los Angeles Lakers were in town last season, Anthony Davis collided with M. Night and his wife courtside while trying to keep the ball from going out of bounds, leaving the filmmaker with a black eye. But Shyamalan showed just how big of a Sixers fan he is when he revealed the injury.

Shyamalan, creator and director of “The Sixth Sense” and “Signs,” among many others, was raised in Penn Valley and grew up watching the Sixers. He’s now a season-ticket holder with courtside seats and even gave a speech to the team a few seasons ago.

Meek Mill

Meek Mill may have tweeted that the Miami Heat were his “new team” back in 2010, but he’s done enough since to prove his allegiance truly lies with the Sixers for us to overlook that.

Most recently, Meek reportedly tried convincing James Harden to join the Sixers while the former MVP was forcing his way out of Houston earlier this season.

Meek was also involved in a cool moment during the first playoff series of the post-Process era. Hours after being released from prison in 2018, the Philadelphia-born rapper rang the ceremonial pregame bell at Game 5 against the Miami Heat

You just knew the Sixers were closing out the series after that.

Lil Dicky

In case you didn’t know, there is actually a song that features Ariana Grande, Leonardo DiCaprio and Joel Embiid.

Lil Dicky released a charity single in 2019 about climate change called “Earth,” which includes vocals from The Process and a long list of big-name celebrities. Embiid only had one line on the song, but hopefully there’s another JoJo-Lil Dicky collab coming in the future.

Lil Dicky is a Pennsylvania native and big time Sixers fan. The rapper and actor termed his Philly sports fandom as “unhealthy" in an interview with The Athletic.
