PHOENIXThe Phillies may have suffered a loss in their 8-4 win over Arizona on Wednesday.
Catcher Carlos Ruiz left the game when he felt pain in his lower back after taking a swing in which he flied out to left field. The swing came in the top of the first inning and Ruiz exited, replaced by Brian Schneider, without playing defensively.
Ruiz will be examined by team physicians on Thursday.
Asked if believed whether hed have to miss time, Ruiz said: I cant tell right now.
Asked if he was worried, Ruiz said: Yeah.

Ruiz said he felt pain in his lower back and down his right leg when he swung. He said hed felt it before but never this bad.
It feels sore, Ruiz said. Well see how it feels tomorrow.
If Ruiz needs time on the disabled list, Schneider would become the teams primary catcher and the club would likely bring up either Dane Sardinha or Erik Kratz from Triple-A to be the backup. Both have big-league time.
General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Ruiz would have tests in Philadelphia on Thursday.
