The one and only Ricky Bottalico caught up with the outgoing Archie Bradley to chat about the 2021 Phillies bullpen and how they’re beginning to come together.
Now that the Phillies are home, how about some R-E-S-P-E-C-T?
From experts to the sports books, the 2021 Phillies will have to earn that by their play on the field -- because the early season MLB odds are not kind to them.
The Phillies have been listed with the fourth-best chance to win the National League East dating back to last October after the Dodgers won the World Series, per NBC Sports betting partner PointsBet. However, the Phillies’ odds have been on the rise since October.

2021 MLB odds: NL East winner
- October 28, 2020: Braves -134, Nationals +375, Mets +425, Phillies +575, Marlins +5000
- Now: Braves +115, Mets +150, Nationals +650, Phillies, +1000, Marlins +1800
The Phillies have had the biggest increase going from +575 to +1000 ($10 bet to win $100). The Mets, who added names like Francisco Lindor and James McCann this offseason, have leapfrogged the Nationals with the second best odds at +150.
The Phillies World Series (+4000, $10 bet to win $400) and win total (81.5) odds have remained the same since last October. To clinch the National League pennant, the Phillies are +2000 ($10 bet to win $200).
MLB
With baseball going back to the format of five teams from each league making the playoffs, the Phillies have some work to do if they want to be playing baseball in the fall. Seven teams are listed ahead of them on PointsBet to make the postseason. Currently, the Phillies are +275 ($10 bet to win $27.50) to make the postseason. Meanwhile, their odds to go home after Game 162 are -400 ($40 bet to win $10).
These big numbers shouldn’t really surprise anyone considering it’s been ten years since there was a Red October in Philadelphia. It would be a sight for sore eyes seeing the pandemic diminish as fans pack Citizens Bank Park during a Phillies playoff run.
