Phillies sign promising hitting prospect from Taiwan

The Phillies had almost triple the amount of hits that the Dodgers had, but yet still found a way to lose 3-1. Spencer Howard was perfect through 3.0 IP until a pair of homers were the difference in the game.

The Phillies have signed a highly regarded young prospect from Taiwan, according to multiple sources and reports.

Lee Hao-Yu is an 18-year-old second baseman who has represented his country in several international tournaments. He will be eligible to play in the Phillies' minor-league system this summer.

According to industry sources, Lee Hao-Yu received a signing bonus north of $500,000. Offense is said to be the player’s strength.

We dug up some video of Lee Hao-Yu swinging the bat. Not too shabby. It also appears that he’s a little feisty, which is never a bad thing.
